BILKON is a Turkish leather manufacturer that was founded in 1987 through the vision of Cuneyt Bilgi. From a young age, Bilgi was attracted to the centuries-old heritage of the leather industry in Turkey, dating back to the 12 th century. He began travelling the world, visiting tanneries from Europe to New Zealand, with the goal of importing and supplying unique skins to the Turkish market. Having established himself and wanting to expand his reach, Bilgi brought together a qualified labour force specialised in leather garment manufacturing and established the BILKON factory. Specialised in leather, shearling and stretch leather garments, the company quickly grew to meet industrial manufacturing capacities, while retaining an atelier-like approach to creation. With an understanding of the challenges of the sampling process, BILKON supports design houses in achieving their desired results, no matter how large or small the company or the order.
